Young joins Kansas hoops team by The Sports Network

 The Kansas Jayhawks announced that they have added transfer forward Kevin Young to the team for the 2011-12 season.

Young, who transferred from Loyola Marymount University, will be a junior at Kansas.

The 6-foot-8, 215-pound averaged 9.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his freshman season and improved his output to 10.7 points and 5.6 points per game his sophomore season. Over two seasons, he recorded six double-doubles.

Young sat out as a player last year to focus on academics and completed his associate’s degree at San Bernardino Community College
