Wade suffers left hip contusion in Game 5 by The Sports Network

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade suffered a left hip contusion in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

Wade sustained the injury late in the first quarter during a collision with Dallas forward Brian Cardinal, who was called for blocking on what was a very physical play.

Wade went to the locker room, but came back in the second quarter and posted 11 points after 24 minutes.

Wade stayed in the locker room at the start of the second half, but he came back again with about 4 1/2 minutes to play in the third quarter. Wade ended with 23 points and eight assists in Miami’s 112-103 loss.

“I’ll be good for Game 6,” Wade said. “Like I said, I feel our team did a great job while I was out. We have a team that’s deep enough that can make things happen.”
