Orioles release Winn, cut seven others by the Sports Network

Sarasota, FL (Sports Network) – The Baltimore Orioles trimmed their roster with eight moves on Monday, including the release of outfielder Randy Winn.

Baltimore also optioned outfielder Nolan Reimold to Triple-A Norfolk and assigned infielder Nick Green and pitchers Mark Hendrickson, Clay Rapada, David Riske, Ryan Drese and Pat Egan to minor league camp.

Winn was in camp as a non-roster invitee and hit .278 with a home run this spring. The 36-year-old veteran is a career .284 hitter in 13 seasons with Tampa Bay, Seattle, San Francisco, the New York Yankees and St. Louis.

Reimold has appeared in 143 games over the past two seasons with the Orioles and has clubbed 18 homers while batting .262. He hit three homers and drove in 10 runs while batting .315 with a .448 on-base percentage this spring.
