Coyotes sign D Weller by The Sports Network

The Phoenix Coyotes signed defenseman Justin Weller to an entry level contract on Thursday.

Weller played for the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League last season and in 68 games he had four goals, 13 assists and 104 penalty minutes.

Over four seasons with the Rebels, the 19-year-old Daysland, Alberta native has totaled six goals and 27 assists with 262 penalty minutes in 220 games.

He was a fourth-round pick of the Coyotes in the fourth round of the 2009 draft.
