Coyotes ink G LaBarbera to two-year deal by The Sports Network

The Phoenix Coyotes have signed goaltender Jason LaBarbera to a two-year contract, the team announced Monday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

LaBarbera played in 17 games with the Coyotes last season, posting a 7-6-3 record with a 3.26 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage and two shutouts. On March 18, LaBarbera recorded a team season high 46 saves against the Canucks.

Since joining the Coyotes as a free agent in 2009, LaBarbera has recorded a 15-11-4 record over 34 games.

“We are very pleased to sign Jason to a new contract,” general manager Don Maloney said. “Jason is a quality NHL goaltender who has played well for us and been an extremely reliable player. We look forward to having him back next season.”

In seven seasons with the New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks and the Coyotes, LaBarbera has played in 141 games posting a record of 52-55-14 with a 2.90 GAA, a .906 save percentage and six shutouts.
