Chiefs LB Vrabel Arrested for Casino Theft by the Sports Network.

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) – Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel, one of the plaintiffs in an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL, was reportedly arrested Monday morning and charged with theft at a casino.

Vrabel was released on $600 bond after being charged with a class D felony for the incident at Belterra Casino in Florence, Indiana, the Kansas City Star reported.

The linebacker issued a statement to the newspaper, calling the incident an “unfortunate misunderstanding.”

“I take full responsibility for the miscommunication. I’m sorry and I feel comfortable that after talking with the appropriate parties, we will resolve this matter,” Vrabel said in the statement.

Details were not available on the arrest. The Chiefs issued a statement saying they were aware of the reports concerning Vrabel, but can’t contact him personally during the lockout.

“We understand that Mike has communicated publicly that the matter is a misunderstanding for which he takes full responsibility. We hope it is resolved for Mike in a positive way,” the Chiefs said.

Vrabel and several other NFL players — including quarterbacks Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees — are plaintiffs in the antitrust lawsuit against the NFL that gets underway this week.
