Celtics’ Allen exercises option for 2011-12 by The Sports Network

The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that guard Ray Allen exercised his player option for the 2011-12 season.

Per club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Allen, who has spent the last four seasons with the Celtics, shot a career- high 44.4 percent from three-point range and averaged 16.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists during the 2010-11 campaign.

The 6-foot-5 guard became the NBA’s all-time leader in made three-pointers this season, passing Reggie Miller on February 10.
