Miami’s Johnson declares for NBA Draft by The Sports Network

Coral Gables, FL (Sports Network) – University of Miami sophomore Reggie Johnson has entered his name in the 2011 NBA Draft, but the 6-foot-10, 300- pound center will wait on hiring an agent.

Johnson has until May 8 to remove his name from consideration to maintain college eligibility.

“The chance to play in the NBA is something that has been in my mind for a long time — since I was really young,” said Johnson. “Now the chance has presented itself so I can see where I stand. If it doesn’t feel right, I know I still have the opportunity to return to play college basketball.”

Johnson recorded 13 double-doubles for the Hurricanes last season and averaged a team-high 9.6 rebounds to go with 11.9 points per game.
