Giants place DeRosa on DL by The Sports Network

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) – The San Francisco Giants placed infielder Mark DeRosa on the 15-day disabled list Thursday.

The 36-year-old is suffering from discomfort in his left wrist, the same one he had season-ending surgery on in July. In a recent examination, Dr. Thomas Graham, who performed the procedure, found inflammation in the cartilage surrounding the area that was repaired.

DeRosa is batting .333 (6-for-18) with three runs batted in over 11 games this season.

To fill the roster spot, the Giants recalled infielder Emmanuel Burriss from its Triple-A affiliate in Fresno.
